Weekend Recap

Hello Lovelies,
So this weekend was jam packed with fun and activities. My mother-in-law is turning 60 next week and so Brian and I decided to throw her a little party to celebrate on Friday. It wasn't a big party, however, it was intimate so that everyone in the room could visit with one another and enjoy each other's company. If you follow me on Instagram, you saw the cute invitations that we sent out last month { Courtesy of Tiny Prints }. Since we were going to be flying in for the party, it was a very jammed packed afternoon. We flew into Houston, rented a car and went straight to the flower market in the Woodlands to get some fresh flowers for the party. I decided on snap dragons, hydrangeas and baby's breath for a simple, fresh and country chic look. I had purchased the mason jars and candles in advance so I wouldn't have to waste any time shopping for them. I also searched East Texas high and low for a cake designer who would take on a Louis Vuitton cake. I came across Cakes by Claire and she did an amazing job. The best part? The cake still tasted amazing even though it looked like a literal piece of art. She even customized it to my mother-in-law's favorite flavor. We had a blast and shared a lot of laughs. Happy Birthday G!

We also had our first wedding to attend of 2013. Evan and Kelly had a beautiful wedding in Sugarland, TX, and we were so glad that we were able to celebrate with them. Brian got to see a lot of friends that he has been missing from college, and I got to see some familiar faces as well as meet some new ones. A lot of bubbly and chocolate covered strawberries for this lady. It was a fun time. I wore a fun dress from Anthropologie, and Brian rocked an awesome Robert Talbott tie that complimented my dress.

To top it all off, the RAVENS won the Super Bowl. Way to bring it back to Baltimore guys!

We are taking it easy for the rest of February {Gasp}. No trips planned until the second weekend of March when we go to Dallas to look at real estate and furniture. It'll be nice to just relax as I feel like this year has been filled with weekend trips that are very fun but leave a girl tired until mid week.

Hopefully I can spend this month hanging out with my Lubbock BFF Allison who I have a feeling will not be living in Dallas with me despite me sending her pictures and links to every Gluten Free bakery and cycling studio in the city. Leeeee Sigh.

Anyone else hate this week because you know you will never go to Fashion Week because you don't care about high fashion ... but still are jealous because who wouldn't want to go to NYC for any reason at all?

xoxo,
